Dietary supplements received considerable interest due to their presumed safety. This article discusses the need for proper nutrition, health problems associated with violations of known healthy eating models, the development of new dietary supplements, dietary supplements with new health benefits, and the use of these products. It focuses on elucidating mechanisms of action. The term "nutraceutical" is a hybrid term introduced in 1989 to denote the relationship between "nutrition" and "pharmaceutical". The primary reasonsfor consuming them are to improve overall health and well-being, fill nutritional gaps in the diet, and stimulate immune health, boost energy, bone and heart health. Despite scientific progress, viral diseases continue to be a major cause of morbidity worldwide, increasing the potential for spread and
ultimately leading to pandemics. Diet supports the body's immune system and can play an important role in the optimal functioning of immune system cells. They can be categorized into polyunsaturated fatty acids, antioxidants, and various other plant-based whole foods. These dietary supplements are used for a variety of diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, and cholesterol.
