PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF GOAT DUNG-COW URINE EXTRACT

Abstract
The Cow urine has been used from ancient times for curing many
ailments of human beings. It is important and essential part of
Panchgavya Chikitsa. Difffernt Ayurvedic literature have mentioned its
importance and uses for treatment of, Kushtha, Kandu, Udarrog, Colic,
Abdominal tumour, enema etc. The goat was one of the first animals to
be domesticated by humans, about 9,000 years ago. The Goat dungcow
urine was extracted by using Decoction method.The present study
was carried out to characterize the bioactive constituents present in
Goat dung- cow urine extract by using UV-VIS and ATR-FTIR
technique. In the present study to investigate the antimicrobial activity
of Goat and cow waste. Antibacterial activity of Goat and cow waste confirmed against gram
positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. Antibacterial activity of Goat and cow waste also
proved against gram negative bacteria Escherichia coli.
