Abstract
Murraya koenigii also known as a curry tree is use as a medicinal plant
in India. The ethanolic extract of curry leaves (Murraya koenigii) were
tested for their antibacterial effect on one gram positive and one gram
negative bacteria by using agar well diffusion method. The present
research has been undertaken with the aim to formulate the herbal gel
containing Murraya koenigii(curry leaves) plant leaf extract. The gel
formulation were prepared by using carbapol 940, Murraya koenigii
leaves extract, propylene glycol, methyl paraben, propyl paraben,
glycerine and required amount of distilled water.
Keywords: Murraya koenigii, Soxhelt apparatus, antibacterial activity, agar well diffusion method, Gram positive bacteria, Gram negative bacteria, carbapol 940.
