CONCEPTUAL EXPLORATION OF DHATU POSHAN NYAYA

Abstract
Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine based on experience of
many acharyas for centuries. Ayurveda always focus on the state of
equilibrium of dosha, dhatu, and mala of the body. The fundamental
concepts of Ayurveda must be explained and proven in terms of
modern knowledge. Aharya mentioned seven different types of dhatus
from rasa to shukra, this process of dhatu formation continues from
birth till death which provides nutrition and maintain the homeostasis
in the body. In Ayurveda acharyas mentioned three upashtambha of
which one is ahara, by the process of jatharagni the ahar converted
into ahar rasa which nourishes all the dhatus. One dhatu get converted
into another like rasa converted to rakta and so on, so process of dhatu conversion in
Ayurveda explained with the help of dhatuposhana nyaya, these nyayas are not listed in
bruhatatrayi they are explained by tikakaras. Dhatuposhan nyaya helps us to know how
purest Dhatu forms like from nine Anjali rasa dhatu to half Anjali shukra dhatu formed.
