DADRU KUSHTHA – AN AYURVEDIC LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract
Skin disease are being considered as a major health problem in adults. It leads to discomfort and significant morbidity among them. All skin disease in Ayurveda have been classified under the broad heading of kushtha. Dadru kushtha is very common skin infection. Dadru kushtha is being a kshudra kushtha has Kapha Pitta dominance. It chracterised by kandu (Itching), Raga (Reddish discolouration of skin), Pidika (Papule), Mandal (Circular patches with elevated edge). On the basis of presenting symptoms dadru with dermatophytosis through modern perspective it comes under superficial fungal infection of the skin the most common dermatological manifestation affecting up to 20-25% of worlds population in all group. Here we will discuss about Nidan (Causative factor), Samprapti (Aetiopathogenesis), Lakshan (Causative factor), Chikitsa (Treatment), Pathya-Apathya and preventive methods of dadru kushtha.
