ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ENDODONTICS: A SCOPING REVIEW

Abstract
Aim- The aim of this review was to discuss about the current
applications of Artificial intelligence in the field of Endodontics in
terms of diagnosis, decision making and predicting the prognosis of the
treatment. Methods- Articles reporting on applications of Artificial
intelligence in Endodontics were evaluated in this narrative. Results -
The AI system have been implemented for various applications in
Endodontics which includes determination of working length,
predicting periapical pathosis, detection of vertical root fracture,
assessment of root morphologies, predicting viability of stem cells and
predicting prognosis of retreatment. Conclusion -The AI system has many applications in
Endodontics and it can help dentists to diagnose and manage endodontic problems with
higher accuracy and precision. However further studies are required in this field before
widespread adoption into routine clinical practice.
