THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL OF PONGAMIA PINNATA IN VARIOUS DISORDER

Abstract
The plant Pongamia pinnata is known as Karanja. Is used as medicine
belong to the family Fabaceae. Well-known in Telugu as kanuga,
Hindi as Karanja, and English as Indian beech. Traditional system
(Ayurvedic) including as digestive, laxative, anthelmintic, to treat
piles, wound healing, relieving rheumatic pains, for cleaning and
preventing ulcers in gonorrhea and scrofulous enlargement.).
Medicinal plants play an important role in human lives for many years
to treat various diseases all over the world. Its effectiveness is
increasing day by day due to various research. It is used to treat a
variety of diseases and di. Plants are the diverse producer of bioactive
compounds that make them a rich source of different types of
medicines. P. sorders, It contains several phytoconstituents such as alkaloids, tannins,
steroids, glycosides, demethoxy-kanugin, glabrin, kanugin, karangin, flavonoids and fixed
oils. The seed powder are used as a drug to reduce fever, energizer, medicinally use in
bronchiolitis and pertussis, irritations, chest inflammation or infection, piles, and anemic
condition are all treated with this medicinal herb. The extract displayed ulcer-protective
effects when mucosal protection factors such as mucin secretion, mucosal cell glycoproteins,
mucosal cell life span, cell proliferation, or lipid peroxidation prevention were interruped.
