Ayurveda is not only a medical science but also it is a life science
devoted to cure the human sufferings along with better living. Marma
is one of the important considerations as per ayurveda which play
significant clinical role. Acharyas have enumerated and classified the
107 Marmas based on the region Shakhagat, Urogat, Udaragat,
Pristhagat and Urdhvajatrugat. Acharya Sushruta has given detailed
description of Marma in a chapter sixth

Sira, Snayu, Asthi and Sandhi. If Marma Sthan get injured then it can cause any deformity or
death. If these Marma Sthan are properly stimulated, then many diseases can be treated. Back

cavity) of the body. It is a flat area having vertebral groove in the centre extending from
cervical to lumber vertebrae and heavy musculature on its right and left sides. The bony
framework of vertebral column gives a strong support to the back. There are total 14 Marma
points of back region in human body among which Katiktarun and Kukundar Marma gets
