ETIOPATHOGENESIS AND PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT OF PANDU ROGA: A REVIEW

Abstract
Pandu Roga is a Pitta Pradhan disease in which the person gets
deficiency of blood (Alparakta), deficiency of fat (Alpamedasko),
deficiency of ojas (Nissarah), looseness of body parts
(Shithilendriyah), and abnormality of complexion (Vaivarnyam
Bhajate). In present times, people tend to eat Asatmya Aahar, Ushna,
Tikshna Aahar like pizzas, Chinese food, pickle, packed edibles, chips
etc., which are Amla, Lavana Rasa and Kshar Pradhan and Viruddha
Viharas like strenuous exercises, sleeping in day time, disturbed sleep,
stressful life etc. Because of these factors, middle as well as higher
economic group also suffer from Pandu Roga under different
circumstances. The main emphasis of this article is on the aetiopathogenesis and Ayurvedic
principles of management of Pandu Roga in Brihatrayi. Comprehension of etiopathogenesis
and Ayurvedic management of Pandu roga is very necessary for precise management of the
disease.
