Abstract
According to modern, the Inflammatory process plays an important
role in the disease's development and degree of severity. These
inflammatory processes are laboratically identified by an increase in
the values of Inflammatory markers. ESR and CRP are widely used as
diagnostic Inflammatory markers. These are categorized under Positive
acute phase reactants and are generally suitable as a prognosis
indicator of the disease. These Inflammatory markers are further
divided as Acute or Chronic Inflammatory markers according to the
duration of the manifestation. According to Ayurved impaired Agni at
Jatharagni and Dhatwagni level is responsible for the development of
Samata in the Vyadhi. The severity of Samata can be measured by the involvement of
doshas, dushyas, and the duration of clinical manifestation of Dosha Samata such as Dosha-
Samata and Rasa-Samata. The prognosis and line of treatment of vyadhi are based on the
type of Samata, Doshapaka, and Dhatupaka Lakshana. Ultimately all these are related to the
presence and absence of Aama and Kleda as pathogenetic factors. Hence „Ama‟ and
„Kleda‟ plays an important role as Diagnostic and Prognostic markers of the Vyadhi. In this
paper, the conceptual study of “Samata” is presented in terms of entities like Aam and
Kleda and their correlation with inflammatory markers in ESR and CRP respectively.
