AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF INFERTILITY DUE TO TUBAL BLOCKAGE - A CASE STUDY

Abstract
Infertility is defined as a failure to conceive within one or more years
of regular unprotected coitus. Acharya Sushruata is equating
germination of seed with achievement of conception says that if Ritu
(Season or period near ovulation), Ksetra (field i.e. female
reproductive system) and Ambu (water i.e. nourishing substances), Bija
(seed i.e. ovum and sperms) assemble together, the conception will
definitely occur. Infertility occurs if there is any abnormality in Ritu,
Ksetra, Ambu and Bija. In this case study patient aged 25 years who
was anxious to conceive since four years of regular and satisfactory
marital relationship seeking Ayurved line of treatment. From detailed
history both fallopian tubes show terminal block with extra adhesion in
her HSG report was found, involvement of vitiated Vata and Pitta,
scanty mensus stressful mind was noticed. She was treated with
classical procedure of ayurveda Yoni Prakshalan and yoni pichu followed by Shamana
treatment. With these ayurvedic medications patient approached with history of secondary
amenorrhea and when advised for Urine Pregnancy test and it was found positive.
Garbhasthapana medicines were given to the patient.
