Abstract
The aim of the study was to understand the prescription pattern of anticoagulants, steroids, antivirals and antibiotics in COVID-19 Pneumonia. A retrospective study was conducted among the in-patients admitted to SH medical centre hospital, a tertiary care hospital in Kerala, India for a period of 6 months in General Medicine & MICU. A total of 129 cases (65 COVID 19 survivors and 64 non-survivors) were collected for understanding the prescription pattern in COVID-19 pneumonia. In our study, LMWH was the most commonly prescribed anticoagulant among both non survivors [65.71%] and survivors [42.31%]. Among steroids, Methylprednisolone was found to be the most commonly administered drug among non survivors
[60.75%] and Dexamethasone was found to be the most common drug in survivors [32.40%]. In case of antivirals, Remdesivir [70.84%] was the most common drug in non survivors [70.84%] and Favipiravir among survivors [57.15%].
