RELEVANCE OF MEDOSAARA IN PRESENT SCENARIO WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO LIFESTYLE DISORDER

Abstract
Ayurveda defines health as a state of physical, mental, social and
spiritual well-being. According to Ayurveda Shareera is made from
Dosha, Dhatu and Mala. There are seven Dhatus in our body and
Medo Dhatu is one of them. Literally, the word Medo is derived from
root “Trimida Snehana” and it stands for Sneha, Fat, and Oil etc. In
our body the substance which has Snigdhatva property is called Medos.
Strength of body depends on the excellent and finest quality status of
Dhatu. Qualitative, quantitative and functional assessment of seven
Dhatus is called Dhatu Sara. Person having maximum qualities of any
of tissue excellence is called Uttam Saara. Person having symptoms
opposite to Uttam Dhatu Saara is called as Asaara Dhatu. Person
having moderate symptoms of Dhatu Sara is called Madhyam Sara. According to Ayurveda
in treatment, Sara Pareeksha is essential. In modern scenario human have many diseases due
to their lifestyle so there is need to study of this Medo Sara and also its relationship with
Agni, Prakruti, Bala, so we can prevent or treat such diseases of Medo Dhatu. By this study
we can blend our modern lifestyle and health oriented habits with the ancient knowledge of
Saara Pareeksha to lead a healthy, happy, stress-free life.
