Abstract
Chicken pox is a highly contagious viral disease that occurs most
frequently in childhood, is a result of primary infection with varicella
zoster virus. Although it is generally a benign, self limiting disease
Varicella zoster virus may be associated with serious complications. In
Ayurveda chicken pox cases can be treated by following the treatment
of Masurika disease. The aim of study was to access the efficacy of
Ayurvedic management via Shamana Chikitsa. It is a case study of
Chicken pox treated by Guduchi Churna, Shadangpaniya,
Paripathadikwatha, Nimba Lepa. The treatment was continued for 8
consecutive days, symptomatic assessment was done and overall relief
and improvement of patient was observed.
