Abstract
Plant constitutes a vital component of the biodiversity as they play a
key role in maintaining earth’s environmental equilibrium and
ecosystem stability. Tridaxprocumbens Linn is commonly called as
“Coat Buttons” or wild daisy and is dispensed for “Bhringraj” by some
of the practitioners. Tridaxprocumbens Linn suggest hereby that all
natural products can be turned bioactive molecules as every diverse
molecule possessing one kind or multiple kinds of biological and
pharmacological activities like Hepatoprotective activity,
Immunomodulating property, Anti-inflammatory, Wound healing,
Antidiabetic activity, Anticoagulant activity, Hypotensive effect,
diarrhoea. The present study was aimed to investigate phytochemical
present in the leaves extract with different solvents of Tridax
procumbens LINN. The plant was extracted successively in Ethanol and water. This analysis
revealed the presence or absence of phytochemical such as flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolic
compounds, saponins, terpenoids, tannins, carbohydratesetc.
Keywords: Tridax procumbens, Extracts, Coat Buttons and Phytochemical analysis.
