Abstract
Yoga is a holistic practice which yields the stances of asanas,
pranayama, dharna and dhyana. When combined along with proper
diet and regimen it can reduce the risk of preterm delivery, cesarean
section and foetal death, especially in the third trimester. It calms the
mind and prepares a woman physiologically and psychologically for
labour. It can be used as a part of care protocol along with regular Ante
Natal Care to reduce complications of pregnancy and childbirth.
