AGNIKARMA: A CRITICAL REVIEW

. Abstract Agnikarma, or heat cauterization, is one of Ayurveda's Anushastras(surgical tool backups) or para-surgical ways. It's said to offer total relief in some habitual ailments that are not treated by herbal treatment, surgery, or alkaline cauterization. Ancient Indian surgeon Sushruta specified various materials similar as Pippali(piper longum), Ajasakrut(scapegoat's excreta), Godantha(cow's tooth), Shara(arrow), Shalaka(metal rods), Kshoudra(honey), Guda(jaggery), Sneha(oil painting/ fat)etc. for cauterizing specific body corridor similar as skin, muscle, blood vessels, ligaments, etc. grounded for various illness conditions, applicable material should be named according to the surgeon's explanation. Agnikarma has a multi-faceted effect on the body. Because of its Tikshna(rapid-fire action), Ushna(hotness), Sukshma(subtle), Vyavayi(fast spreading), and Vikashi(works without being metabolised) parcels to eradicate Srotorodha(inhibition in channels of body), it's generally employed in Vata and Kaphadiseases.
