EVALUATION OF VIDAARIGANDHADI GANA OF SUSHURUT SAMHITA: A LITERARY REVIEW & CLINICAL INDICATION

Abstract

Vidarigandhadi gana denotes group of twenty medicines, which act on shosh, gulm, angmard, urdhavshwas, kash. Vidarigandhadi gana is the first gana of 37 gana described in thirtyeighth chapter of sutra sthan of sushurut samhita and includes vidaarigandha, vidaari, Vishwadeva, Sahadeva, Swadamshtra, Prithakparni, Shatavari, Saariva, krishansaariva, Jivaka, Rishbhaka, Mahasaha, Kshudrasaha, bothBruhati, Punarnva, Eranda, Hamsapadi, Vrishchikali, Rishabhi twenty ingridients. these 20 plants are work together and give enhanced effect. they also effective individually. these plants having katu, tikta, kasaya rasa, ushna virya, katu vipak, ruksha, laghu guna and pitaanilapaha properties. Review has found that the clinical applicability of this gana's indications in relation to shosha, gulma, shwasa, and kasa in other Sthana of Sushrutsamhita. According to a study, it may also be administered in cases of udaroga, apasmara, vidradhi, abhishyanda, atisaar, raktapitta, pratishyaya, trishna, and mutrakriccha, among other clinical problems. following dosha analysis.
