SUBSTITUTED PYRAZOLES AND THEIR SULPHONYL ANALOGSDESIGN, SYNTHESIS AND BIO EVALUATION

. Abstract A new series of 2a-2j have been synthesized by the sulphonation of 6,8-dibromo-3-{4-[5-(substitutedphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-pyrazol-3- yl]phenyl}-2-phenyl quinazolin-4-one (1a-1j) with benzene sulphonyl chloride by using pyridine as a solvent. 1a-1j intermediate have been synthesized by the refluxation of 6, 8-dibromo-3-{4-[3- (substitutedphenyl) prop-2-enoyl]phenyl}-2-phenylquinazolin-4-one with 99% hydrazine hydrate by using ethanol as a solvent. The chemical structures of the newly synthesized sulphonyl compounds have been confirmed on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data. The newly synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities by Agar Cup method. Some of the synthesized compounds exhibit significant antibacterial activity and antifungal activity. Keywords: Sulphonyl pyrazole, synthesis, Bioevaluation, reaction.
