MILLET'S AS A FOOD FOR MAINTENANCE OF GOOD HEALTH

. Abstract Millets, a group of small-seeded grasses and well known as the powerhouse of nutrition. Have been cultivated for thousands of years and are an important staple food in many parts of the world, especially in Africa and Asia. In recent years, millets have gained attention for their potential as a nutritional supplement to maintain good health. Millets are gluten-free and rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals. They are also low in fat and have a low glycemic index, making them an ideal food for people with diabetes. Studies have shown that including millets in the diet can help reduce the risk of several chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, Cancer, obesity, age related diseases, malnutrition, anaemia, skin disorders, anti oxidant and immunity enhancer. The high fiber content of millets helps regulate digestion, reduces cholesterol levels, and improves blood glucose control.
