CONCEPT OF PANCHMAHABHUTA SIDDHANTA AND ITS ASPECT IN CHIKITSA- A LITERARY REVIEW
Dr. Sanju Kumari* and Dr. Alok Kumar Asthana
. Abstract Panchamahabhuta Siddhanta is one of the fundamental principles of Ayurveda, and many other principles are based on it. According to this siddhanta, everything in the universe is panchabhautika, i.e., everything is made up of five basic elements (akasha, vayu, agni, jala, and prithvi). These five basic elements are present in all, whether living or non-living, and somehow the conjugation of these five elements with Chetnadhatu (Atma) is responsible for the creation of purusha and chikitsya purusha. This principle serves to achieve the purpose of Ayurveda, i.e., maintaining the health ofhealthy people and treating disease, as these panchamahabhutas are responsible for the physiological as well as the pathological state. Ayurveda and panchabhautika chikitsa are not entirely different from one another; the only difference is the approach based on the fundamental level (panchabhautika siddanta). This article focuses on the importance of the panchamahbhauta siddhant and its practicality during diagnosis and therapy. Keywords: Panchamahabhuta siddhanta, Panchabhautika Dravya, Ayurveda, Purusha, Panchabhautika Chikitsa. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
