Abstract
Ayurveda gives the details such as distinction among sira, dhamani and
srotas. The term sira, in one location displays a which means of blood
vessels even as at other location, it method nerve. In such situation it's
miles very hard to understand doubtlessly about it like current
Anatomy. Therefore, it requires exceptional studies paintings to get a
clear idea. The information of Anatomy turned into derived from the
dissection of animals all through sacrifices. In Brahmanas and
Kalpasutras, we find names of a number of organs which are similar in
human body. Acharya Sushruta was the first who defined the approach
of the dissection of human cadaver and emphasised at the importance
of dissection anatomy, In that order acharya sushruta has described the sira in sharir sthana.
Sushruta has labeled the info which includes disturbance amongst sira, dhamni & srotas.
Sushruta has stated 4 varieties of sira – Aruna, Neela, Lohita, Sweta. These are relevant
respectively with the dosha- Vatta, Pitta, Kapha, Rakta. We can regard these sira is the vein,
which carry deoxygenated blood from all over the body towards the heart. Sushruta has
explained Anatomy of sira in Sharira sthana “Siravarna Vibhakta Nama Shariram”.
Sushruta‟s concepts of “Sira Shariram” and “Sira vedhyavidhi Shariram” are specifically
unique. The phrase sira consists of wide variety of meaning. Sira isn't always a unmarried
sort of vessel, however it is able to be differenciated according to its coloration, role,
structure & feature. However the term sira, in one vicinity reflects a meaning of blood vessels while at different place, it manner nerve. In such condition it is very hard to recognise probably approximately it like current Anatomy.
