AN AYURVEDIC REVIEW OF KARNANADA W.S.R TO TINNITUS

. Abstract The term Karna is an organ responsible for the perception of the sound (It includes external, middle, internal ear). Nada means which provide rhythm sounds in the ear. Tinnitus is an ear disorder in which there is irregular sensation of ringing in the ears like hissing, roaring, whistling, clicking, chirping. The term Tinnitus derived from latin word Tinnire that means ring. This is most common in old age. The symptoms are better managed through Ayurveda medicines. Prognosis of the disease can’t cured completely but its associated symptoms can be relieved by drug and karnapoorana procedures. Proper diet and sleep are also essential to get relief from this disease. Snehana, Karnapoorana, Brimhana are the treatment of this disease.
