Abstract
Yonikanda is described in Ladhutrayis in Ayurveda which appeared
nearer to Bartholin abscess and account 2% of all gynaecological visits
a year. This case study was done to see the efficacy of Japakusuma
kalka Yonilepa (application of paste made by hibiscus flowers over the
cyst) followed by oral Ayurvedic drugs in the management of
Yonikanda w.s.r. to Bartholin cyst. A 21 years old unmarried but
sexually active female patient came to PTSR OPD complaining pain
and swelling at vagina with burning since a week. During pelvic
examination, she was diagnosed by Yonikanda (left side Bartholin
cyst). Serological examinations were done to exclude any other
infective conditions. She was treated by Japakusuma kalka Yonilepa
for 10 days with orally Manjishthadi kwatha 10 ml empty stomach twice a day and Kaishora
guggulu two tablets with luke warm water twice a day for 10 days. Yonikanda (Bartholin
cyst) was markedly recovered by local therapy i.e., Japakusuma kalka Yonilepa and oral
drugs. Complete remission was found in symptoms as well. Ayurvedic Sthanika Chikitsa
(local procedure) i.e., Yonilepa with oral drugs can be the batter management option for
Yonikanda (left side Bartholin cyst) without any side effects.
