ROLE OF NANOPARTICLES IN DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM
Gaurav Kaushik* and Dr. Nita Sharma Das
. Abstract Nanoparticles, materials with overall dimensions on the nanoscale, i.e., 100 nm or less, have played an important role in modern medicine in recent years. Clinical applications range from contrast agents in imaging to vehicles for drug and gene delivery to tumors. In fact, in some cases the use of nanoparticles enables analyzes and treatments that are otherwise impossible. However, nanoparticles also pose unique environmental and social challenges, especially regarding toxicity. The purpose of this overview is to highlight the most important contributions of nanoparticles to modern medicine and also to discuss the ecological and social aspects of their use. Keywords: Nanoparticles, Contrast agents, Drug delivery, Tumors, Quantum dots, Toxicity. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
