Abstract

Ayurveda(herbal) Medicine or plant extract or aromatic plant are safe because as plant products are without any side effect, do not add any physiological pressure on the pathogens for the development of drug resistance, easily degradable, non accumulative in the environment, do not cause environment pollution too. However, the development and use of herbal drugs are lagged behind due to several factors. In this present review, we have made an attempt to discuss Activity of Krimighan Mahakasaya to evaluate their potency as antimicrobial compounds with their limitations medications whose mechanism of action on bacterial cellular activity without directly causing bacterial death & medication responsible for killing bacteria. Special effort is made to enlist antimicrobial activity of krimighan mahakasaya described by Acharya in literature. The basic drawbacks of this traditional system are also discussed.
