ROLE OF YASHTYAHWA NIRUHA BASTI IN THE MANAGEMENT OF VATARAKTA W.S.R. TO GOUT: A CASE STUDY

Abstract
It is becoming very hard to follow rules of Dincharya, Ratricharya and
Ritucharya as explained in Ayurveda thats why in present scenario
metabolic disorders are very common. Among them Vatarkta is one. In
Vatarakta, Vata dosha & Dushya Rakta are vitiated simultaneously.
The aggravated Vata Dosha have been obstructed in its passage by
aggravated blood affects the entire blood and the disease manifested
due to this condition is known as Vatarakta. In modern science,
Vatarakta is much similar to gout due to similarity of some sign and
symptoms. Ayurveda has become the most effective measure for
treatment of Vatarakta. In the present study 39-year-old women having
pain, swelling, tenderness and burning sensation of left middle finger
of hand. She also complains about her right knee joint pain and stiffness, anorexia, weight
gain, constipation for 6years. Yashtyahwa Niruha Basti with nearly tridoshahghna quality is
given to patient. She got relief in pain, tenderness and swelling within 5 days of Basti and
within 16 days, she got complete improvement in other symptoms with significant
improvement in S. Uric acid. As earlier said by Acharya “Na hi Basti Samam Kinchit
Vatarakta Chikitsitam”So, here basti is suggested to patient.
