Abstract
Ayurveda is ancient science which deals with the overall health of the
human being. In Ayurveda, Sharir Rachana, deals with the structures
present in human body like asthi, sandhi, panchendriyas, Twacha, kala
etc. Sharir Rachana helps in the understanding of disease as it gives
the explanation about each and every component of the diseased organ
or any body part. Acharya Sushruta while explaining the Adhyaya
Garbhavyakaran Sharir of Sharir sthana has mentioned the concepts
of Sapta Kala. Acharaya Susruta has explained Sapta kala in body.
Kala is described as a limiting membrane or layers which are situated
between Dhatu and Aashaya. Kala comprises of extremely minute
particles which are invisible to naked eye, similar to cell. In our body,
organs are covered by many layers of membranes which helps in the
separation of organ along with each cell in organ, these membranes can be understood as
Kala.
