A STUDY ON CORELATION OF PRAKRITI AND RITUGATA VYADHIES W.S.R. TO SHISHIR RITU

Abstract
Background: Prakriti of a human which is the peculiar and produced
by predominance of three Dosha Such features are acquired by birth
and remain with the particular individual throughout life. According to
classics Vata Prakriti individuals possess Alpa Bala and are more
susceptible to various kinds of diseases when compared to Pitta and
Kapha Prakriti. Susceptibility to the diseases by an individual is
closely related to the Ritu so, there is inanimate relationship between
the Prakriti, Vikara, Kala and Bala. Dosha aggravates in person in
Ritu. Among six Ritu, Shishir Ritu is unique which marks the
commencement of the Adana Kala, leads to changes in the Dosha sthiti
in the body. Here an attempt is made to know the extent of
susceptibility of different Prakriti persons to Vyadhis in Shishir Ritu. Aim: A Study on
Corelation of Praktiti and Ritugata Vyadhies w.s.r. to Shishir Ritu Methodology: The study
was conducted among the students of Himalyiya Ayurvedic College Dehradun. 50 students
each Vata, Pitta and Kapha Pradhana Prakriti were selected. The susceptibility of the
individuals to diseases in Shishir Ritu (in the beginning, middle and at the end) was noted
using three questionnaires fulfilling the objectives. Results: The results showed Vata
Pradhana Prakriti individuals are more susceptible to vyadhis in Shishir Ritu when compared
to Pitta Pradhana and Kapha Pradhana Prakriti individuals. Conclusion: The study
establishes that Vata Pradhana Prakriti persons are more susceptible to Vyadhis in Shishir
ritu than the Pitta and Kapha Pradhana Prakriti individual.
