Abstract
Crescent-shaped lesions in the glomeruli are the hallmark of the severe
kidney inflammation known as crescentic glomerulonephritis (CGN).
It can be associated with various underlying conditions, including
systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), anti-glomerular basement
membrane (anti-GBM) disease, and ANCA-associated vasculitis.
However, the coexistence of all three conditions in a single patient is
extremely rare and poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. This
case highlights the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges posed by the
rare coexistence of crescentic glomerulonephritis, systemic lupus
erythematosus, anti-GBM disease, and ANCA-associated vasculitis.
Early recognition and appropriate management are crucial to prevent irreversible kidney
damage and improve patient outcomes in these complex cases.
Keywords: Crescentic glomerulonephritis (CGN), Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Anti-glomerular basement membrane (anti-GBM), Antineutrophilic cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) associated vasculitis.
