Abstract
Amlapitta disease occured due to the vitiation of the Agni in the Aamashya is the one of the commonest diseases of Annavahasrotas. It is commonly encountered ailment of the society due to faulty lifestyle and eating habits. On the basis of signs and symptoms amlapitta can be correlated with hyperacidity. It is the result of imbalance between acid secreting mechanism and shielding mechanism of the stomach and intestine. This excessive amount of the acid in the stomach precipitate the disease. In Some cases increased refluxed gastric content stay for prolong period in the oesophagus along with lower mucosal resistance causes inflammation and precipitate the symptoms like sour eructations, retrosternal burning and pain called as gastroesophageal
reflux disease. Wide range of formulations, life style and dietary principles are mentioned in Ayurvedic text which can give emmence help to the patient of amlapitta. In this article a case study is done on 22 years old male patient suffering from urdhawga amlapitta was treated according to dosha, dhatu, prakriti etc. Of the patient with shaman chikitsa. Significant results were found after Ayurvedic management.
