CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF LUTA VISHA AND ITS MANAGEMENT

Abstract
As of August 2022, 50, 356 spider species in 132 families have been
recorded by taxonomists.[1] Acharya Sushruta has described 16 species
of Luta whereas Acharya Vagbhata has described about 28 varieties.
Acharya Sushruta has described Luta visha under Jangama Visha and
Acharya Vagbhata has included Luta visha under the keeta visha.
Spider bite is a common problem among Indian population, however
few of them are harmful. But some Spiders are poisonous and delay in
their diagnosis and treatment but delay can cause death. Detailed
explanation of Luta visha origin, symptoms, mode of poisoning and
treatment is available in our classical texts.
