Abstract
In this competitive world, women’s are multitasking experts. To achieve her goals, she should be in perfect, healthy conditions .But such as a leading & fast lifestyle has increased the chances of abnormality specially contributed to female reproductive system, one of them is PCOD. It is one of that condition which typically affects 2nd or 3rd decade of life in females. According to W.H.O., PCOD affects 8 to10% of women worldwide. It is a endocrine & metabolic disorder. Hyperinsulinemia & Hyperandrogenemia are the chief culprits responsible for oligonorrhoea, hirsutism, obesity, & enlarged ovaries with multiple small cysts &thick tunica results in anovulation. There is no direct reference in Ayurveda for PCOD. Some features are colsely related with some of yonivyapad yet some features nearly bring into its relation with artavdushti.It is considered under doshaj vyadhis &have an equal involvement of Dosha, Dhatu & Updhatu. Therefore lifestyle modifications through diet & physical activities like Yoga & meditation are main stay of management. Healthy dietary interventions in the form of limited calories intake, avoidance of high carbohydrate diet, restricted fat intake high fibrous diet proper meal spacing and avoidance of junk food are very essential interventions to have proved that 5 to 10 % weight loss is enough to restore normal menstrual pattern & ovulation. Pranayam &meditation calms the mind which leads decrease level of depression anxiety Stress level &self-esteem. Adopting all these interventions, we can improve equality of life & can have better metabolic & reproductive outcome in women sufferring from PCOD.
