A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON PHYSIOLOGICAL ASPECT OF SADHAK PITTA AND SADHAKAGNI

Abstract
Ayurveda is one of the great gifts of the sages of ancient India to
mankind. It is one of the oldest scientific medical systems in the world,
with a long record of clinical experience. However, it is not only the
system of medicine in the conventional sense of curing disease. It is
also a way of life that teaches us how to maintain and protect health.
All the Tridosha are important for the body but different. Acharyas
have given importance to particular Doshas like Rishi-Marichi has
given importance to Pitta. He also described that the Agni of the body
that is implicit in Pitta is responsible for Shubha-Karma i.e.
maintaining health in normal state and Ashubha-Karma i.e. Disease
production in vitiated state. The Sadhaka-Pitta is located in the
Hridaya its main function is giving valour and enthusiasm, to enable
the persons to achieve their aspiration this Sadhaka Pitta functions is mainly related to mental
faculties rather than the cardiovascular system. This Sadhaka Pitta is responsible for the
determination of intelligence, memory power and self-esteem and also it is the main
instrument (Sadhana) to achieve the individual aspirations. By this persons are able to
achieve the Chaturvidha-Purusharthasviz- Dharana (righteous behaviour), Artha (Wealth),
Kama (Fulfilment of desires), Moksha (Freedom from bandages). SadhakaPitta Always
prevents the covering of heart by Kapha and Tamoguna which depress the Hridaya. Hence
Heart becomes more active by the effect of sadhak pitta. The Pranavata having command on
the Buddhi, Hridaya, Chitta and Indriya and this SadhakaPitta stimulates them.
