Abstract
In this disease, both Aam and Vata vitiates due to their own cause.
Amavata is not mentioned by Charaka. Detailed description of
Amavata is found in Madhvanidana. Common symptoms of Amavata
are Angamarda, Aruchi, Trishna, Alasya, Sharirgaurav, Jwar, Apaka,
Shotha. Amavata is Vyadhi originated from Madhyam roga marga.
Amavata is a very painful and chronic disease. The treatment
procedure described are Langhan, Swedan, Tikta-katu Dravya’s
Deepana, Virechana, Basti etc.
