Abstract
Sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) results from lesions of the cochlea,
VIIIth nerve or central auditory pathways. It may be present at birth
(congenital) or start later in life (acquired). Congenital due to
anomalies of the inner ear or damage to the hearing apparatus by
prenatal or perinatal factors. Acquired may be genetic or nongenetic.
The genetic hearing loss may manifest late (delayed onset) and may
affect only the hearing, or be a part of a larger syndrome affecting
other systems of the body as well (syndromal). In present study 51-
year-old male patient came to OPD with the complains of left ear
hearing impairment since 10 yrs. Audiometry report shows Left ear
mild to moderate SNHL Right ear – mild SNHL. First Nasya karma
with Anutaila for 7 days has been done parallel Karnapurana with
Bilvadi Taila started for 21 days After that Kala Basti was given to the patient. Sarivadi Vati
for 3 months also given to the patient. Patient feel better after treatment.
