Abstract

Human body contains the certain vital points means Marma points in which Mansa (muscle), Sira (arteries or veins), Snayu (ligaments), Asthi (bones), Sandhi (joints) come together. Marma are the seats of the Prana i.e subtle energy centers where the Prana resides and flow. If there is an injury here, it can cause unbearable pain, disability and even death. Ramayana, Mahabharata and Vedas also provides information regarding Marma. Marma is important in maintaining and healing the health of the body. There are types of Marma according to location, according to structure, according to effects on trauma. Prushthagata Marma mean Points that are on the back and are 14 in number. Marma is an important topic explained in Ayurveda which needs to be explored. In place of a Marma, all structures are included and even if it is included in a particular type of Marma, then on what basis is this done so, I have taken current topic for study by thinking about the Viddha Lakshana (sign and symptoms after injury) and structure of that Marma.

Keywords: Ayurveda, Viddha Lakshana, Marmabhighata, Marma Chikitsa, Asthi Marma, Sandhi Marma.
