AVASTHANUSARA SHODHANA CHIKITSA VIVECHANA IN TAMAKA SWASA W.R.T ASTHMA

Abstract

Noncommunicable diseases are the chronic diseases as a result of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental and behavioural factors. NCDs kill 41 million people each year, equivalent to 74% of all deaths globally. From the first breath of newly born till the last breath that is Shwasochhwasa Kriya is the sign of life, disturbance in this process leads to Swasa Roga. Tamaka Swasa is one of the important diseases, which is similar to bronchial asthma in contemporary science. Ayurveda is the science which deals with the prevention and curative aspect of diseases through Shodhana. Understanding and application of Shodhana with respect to Roga avastha may be helpful in prevention, stabilizing the disease severity, controlling prognosis and complications of the disease. Thus, selection of Shodhana accordingly and doshavastha w.r.t episodic and nonepisodic outbreak of the disease, is essential for the effective management of Tamaka Swasa.
