CHELATING AND THERAPEUTIC ROLE OF SPIRULINA PLATENSIS AGAINST HEAVY METAL, CADMIUM IN HISTOPATOLOGY OF GILLS OF CLARIAS BATRACHUS

. Abstract The present investigation shows the therapeutic role of Spirulina platensis on the histopatology of gills of cadmium treatment after 30 and 45 days. Spirulina platensis is considered as a space food which is found as excellent food for human consumption it is known to have various antiviral, immunological properties which are useful and also acts as and potential therapeutic effects on heavy metal treated Clarias batrachus. This research paper focuses on important properties found in Spirulina and it health benefits to Clarias batrachus. It possesses high contents of proteins, vitamins, lipids and minerals showing functional biological activities. The present paper has been produced on the different compounds which are present in spirulina namely, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, minerals, nucleic acids, antioxidants, pigments and enzymes for healthcare purpose.
