UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF RAKTA SARA IN AYURVEDA - A REVIEW

. Abstract In Ayurveda, Sara Pariksha is one of the method by which one can examine a patient. Acharya Chakrapani defined Sara as -Sara Shabden Vishudhtar Dhaturuchyate, which means purest form of Dhatu both qualitatively and quantitatively. The physical and physio-psychological characteristic of different Sara are reflection of states of Dhatu in form of their structure and functions. Individuals have been classified into various categories of Sara depending upon predominance and quality of particular Dhatu in the body. So, it can be considered that the person of particular Sara will have prevention against the disease produced by particular Dhatu. This view was supported by Kashyap Samhita i.e., Tvaka Sara children have disease free Tvaka and their skin is capable of rapid healing of wounds.
