A THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL – MANAHSHILA (REALGAR)

. Abstract Ayurveda is the oldest traditional system of medicament that provides a broad field of healthcare systems for various diseases and disorders. It comprises Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana as the pharmaceutical branch of science for formulating and processing different Ayurvedic medicament. One of the very effective Rasadravya employees is called Manahshila chemically termed Realgar. As Manahshila imparts a satisfactory field of clinical practices regarding different diseases and disorders so, being clinically practiced by Ayurvedic clinical practitioners for therapeutic applications. In this current article, there is an attempt to comprehensively discuss the Rasadravya Manahshila described in the Veda and Samhita, its synonyms, types, Guna-Dosha, Shodhana (Purification), therapeutic dose, Grahya Swarupa, Satvapatna, therapeutic application, management of complication and also about its important formulations as given in the literature of Ayurveda pharmaceutics science and also to explore its probable mode of action on disease and disorders.
