. Abstract A series of 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives have been synthesized by microwave irradiation method. Microwave assisted organic synthesis is a simple, easy, efficient, economical and eco-friendly for the synthesis of a number of molecules. The main advantages of the microwave assisted reactions are rapid and improved yields and quality of the product. The various carboxylic acid components have been made use in the cyclocondensation reaction with semicarbazide by conventional and microwave irradiation methods in the presence of concentrated sulphuric acid. The products obtained from microwave synthesis have been purified and characterized by their physical and analytical data. Keywords: Oxadiazole, Microwave synthesis, Ecofriendly, Semicarbazide.
