Abstract
In Ayurveda, descriptions of Tundikeri concerning tonsillitis are seen
under Mukha Roga in common but one can find differences of opinion
regarding the Vyadhi Vyaktha Sthana. Acharya Vagbhata has placed
this disease under Kantha Gata Rogas whereas Aacharya Susruta has
listed this under Talu Gata Roga. Precisely this disease manifests due
to Agnimandya, Kapha and Rakta Dosha Prakopa and the underlying
cause are Apathya Ahara and Vihara. Described treatment modalities
of the disease Tundikeri include Antah Parimarjana Chikitsa, Bahi
Parimarjana Chikitsa and Sastra Pranidhana. This case report is
aimed to highlight the effective role of Antah Parimarjana Chikitsa
and Bahi Parimarjana Chikitsa modalities along with Pathya
Anusandhana in the management of Tundikeri without adopting any of
the Sastra and Anusastra Karmas.
