Abstract
Urolithiasis is a condition where stones grow in various regions of the
urinary system, making it difficult to pass urine. Stone production is a
complex process that involves supersaturation, nucleation,
development, aggregation, and retention of stones within the kidney.
Folklore practitioners have claimed that Pseudarthria viscida has antiurolithiatic
properties. The purpose of this study is to highlight the
potential of Pseudarthria viscida, a member of the Fabaceae family, in
the treatment of urolithiasis. Titrimetric and Turbidimetric methods
using aqueous and ethanolic extract were used to evaluate the antiurolithiatic
activity of the whole plant of Pseudarthria viscida. The
results were compared to those obtained using a standard
Cystonetablet. More plant dissolution was visible in the aqueous fraction.
