A CASE STUDY: AYURVEDIC DRUG MANAGEMENT OF HEPATITIS B.

Abstract
The liver may be subject to a number of different infections. These
include hepatotrophic viral infections. The broad term ‘Hepatitis’
means inflammation of liver. Common causes of hepatitis are viruses
like hepatitis A, B, C, D, E. The hepatitis B virus consists of core
containing DNA and a DNA polymerase enzyme needed for virus
replication. Hepatitis cause both acute and chronic infections. Hepatitis
can be correlated with Yakrita sotha, Yakrita vriddhi and Kamala due
to similarities of clinical features. In modern science there is no
definitive evidence that antiviral therapy reduces the severity or
duration of acute hepatitis B. A diagnosed male patient of hepatitis B
having complaints yellowish sclera of tiredness, loss of appetite, Incomplete evacuation for 6
months. Ayurveda treats in natural way. No any complication was found during the
treatment. Hepatitis case was managed by Ayurvedic treatment. Medicinal plants having
Rechana (purgative), Mutrala (diuretics), Vata-shamaka, lekhana, Agnivardhaka, Ama,
Medha, Kapha nasak qualities i.e preferable for hepato-biliary disorders.
