A SURVEY ON THE EFFECTS OF NIDRAVEG DHARAN IN DEHRADUN REGION

. Abstract The current era, which reflects the changing social, economic, and cultural dynamics brought on by urbanization, globalization, and population ageing. A rise in the prevalence of some non-communicable diseases is caused by this trend. The biological (including mental) activity of the organism causes natural desires that regulate the system's balance. Some of them are essentially physiological, while others are defense mechanisms. The suppression of natural vega is the primary cause of all diseases, according to ancient Ayurvedic literature. Consequently, it shouldn't be suppressed. However, some people continue to use it to suppress Vegas. According to Ayurveda, Adharniya vega shouldn't be kept at any costs. They can cause a variety of health issues if they are regularly inhibited for any reason. Suppression of nidra (sleep) should not be retained as another of these 13 vegas. Regulating an urge Sharirika and Mansika Doshas may both be affected by nidra. Modern science recognizes the value of sleep due to its restorative, recuperative, and regenerating effects on living things. Lack of sleep caused due to shift work sleep disorder will result in symptoms of insomnia and be linked to gastrointestinal problems, cardiovascular problems, metabolic problems, immune system problems, cancer, and reproductive problems. Ayurveda acharyas have long time ago recognized the adverse effects of night awakening in the context of Adharneeya vegas which causes drowsiness, headache, heaviness in the head and eyes, etc. In this article, we will attempt to explain the various effects of nidra vega dharan on body mentioned in ayurvedic texts.
