NEUROLOGICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF HIV INFECTION AND IT’S RELATION WITH CD4 COUNT

Abstract
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is caused by Human
Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). It is a serious disorder of immune
system in which normal defense of body breaks against infection
leading to life threatening conditions. Methodology: Hospital based
prospective study, according to inclusion and exclusion criteria 100
sero pisitive for retroviral disease patients included and results were
analysed. Results and Analysis: Male preponderance is observed in
the present study with a male to female ratio of 2.22:1. Most common
age group affected in our study is 21-40 years. Most common
neurological disease observed in our patients is meningitis (71%).
