A OVERVIEW OF MEDICINAL PLANTS ON ANTI-ULCER ACTIVITY
Durai V.*, Sarala A., Dr. Senthil Kumar S. K., Dharanisri K., Dinesh K., Dinesh S., Dinesh Karthick M.
. Abstract Open sores in the stomach's mucosa or beyond the muscularis mucosa are known as gastric ulcers. NSAIDs drugs, high healthcare costs, and the prevalence of gastric and ulcer incidents worldwide make them a serious public health issue. These complications are mostly lifethreatening and include bleeding, perforation, obstruction, and NSAID use. As can be predicted, the goals of modern gastric ulcer treatment are to either strengthen stomach mucosal defenses or combat harmful elements. Drugs that lower gastric acid output, such as H2-receptor antagonists like ranitidine and proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole, as well as antibiotic therapy for the eradication of H. pylori, have been the standard treatments, to use a rat model of ulcer-induced ulceration along with plant extraction to treat the ulceration. The most prevalent gastrointestinal problem is ulcer, which is greatly reduced by plant extraction. Antiulcer activity, which is extracted from a variety of plants and is widely accessible and efficient, is the main emphasis. We examined encouraging outcomes provided by sample plant extracts. Keywords: Gastric ulcer, Plant extracts, Antiulcer activity. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
