AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF AMLAPITTA: A CASE REPORT

Abstract
Amlapitta is a disease of Annavhava Srotas and is more common in the
present scenario of unhealthy diets and regimens. The case of
Amlapitta, was managed with sadhyoVamana, as indicated in Samhita.
Case: A 38 year old male patient presented with complaints of Udaruro
daha (burning sensation in abdomen & chest region), also burning
sensation In eyes and head Amlodgar (Sour belching),
Aruchi(Anorexia), Hrillas (feeling of Nausea), Chardi(episodes of
vomiting occasionally), Udarshula(Abdonimal pain) shirashoola
(headache), Klama (Fatigue). The patient was suffering with above
symptoms since last 1 year. Management: For Sadhya Vamana Akantha
pan yashthimadhu fanta was used. . Yashtimadhu fanta was used as
Vamanaopag dravya and advise sansarjanakrama for 3days then Dipan-Pachan was done with
Narikela khanda. The patient was asked for follow-up after 7 days. Then the patient was
asked to come for follow-up after every 1 month. Result and conclusion: significant
improvement in Amlodgar (Sour belching) and shirashoola (headache), Klama and other
symptoms were subsides and it also seen that there was no recurrence of Amlapitta even after
one year.
