Abstract
The research involves measuring the pH, Biological Oxygen Demand
(BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the waste water of
Gallant Ispat Limited and Indian Glycol Limited, selected sites. The
result illustrates that the height of B.O.D and C.O.D construction was
found in the wastewater of GIL and IGL in summer season. Recorded
pH range is between 5.8 to 6.3 (IGL) and 6.2 to 6.4 (GIL) in summer
season. Recorded pH value is limit the standard permissible limit of
industrial effluent. The observed value of B.O.D is 600 mg/L to 1000
mg/L (IGL) and 600 mg/L to 1000 mg/L (GIL) in summer season. The
observed value of C.O.D is 3200 mg/L to 4400 mg/L (IGL) and 1920
mg/L to 3250 mg/L (GIL) in summer season. Both the recorded values
of B.O.D and C.O.D are higher than the standard permissible limit of
industrial effluent.
